Hardboot

Building on the client's tried-and-true over-center pre-loading system, this design had to take what already worked in a small space, and fit it all into a smaller space. 

This design integrated

  • Sheet metal design - Laser cut, press brake, and stamping
  • Tapped and bent spring steel formed on a spring coiling machine
  • Barrel nuts from a screw machine operator
  • Die Cut EVA foam
  • CNC design and optimization
  • vendor location for rare premade plastic lever

Design Allowed for:

  • youth to adult foot sizes
  • exceed ISO snowboard binding load requirements
  • the lightest hardboot setup on the market
  • Leverage client's over-center pre-load design to deliver the highest riding performance
